We’re driving home. After reaching Santa Monica, Paul and I headed to Bay Photo Labs in Scotts Valley. Our next over night stop was Reno, Nevada (courtesy of John and Pam Maksimik). Last night in Saratoga Springs, Utah, was courtesy of Jason and Amber Debenham. Finally, tonight we’re at Little America in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
After leaving Scotts Valley, we stopped in Pleasant Hill, California, where we met a bunch of friends Brent used to work with and had lunch with them. From there, we went to Fenton’s at the Nut Tree and had ice cream with Brent’s in-laws. Finally, we ended on a mountain top in Reno. Brent’s old high school buddy, Jack (John), and his wife fixed us a nice dinner and provided us rooms for the night.
Bay Photo Labs
We arrived at Bay Photo Labs in the later afternoon Wednesday. We were warmly greeted and given the grand tour of the entire facility.
If I weren’t already a Bay Photo Labs customer, I would be now. Their operation is impressive, and their products more so.
We presented a Route 66 souvenir license plate signed by Paul and me.
We then grabbed a quick bite to eat, and headed to the Santa Cruz Beach & Boardwalk. While this is far from Route 66, here’s a shot of a pesky gull after I chased him away.
